A little anecdote of another life that Phyllis touched:

Miriam Carballo was an FSU intern who taught under Phyllis'
supervision during the '98-'99 school year at Florida High in her
elementary art class. Miriam told me last week that Phyllis was and
is a major inspiration in her art teaching. Phyllis often said to me
and friends that the greatest teaching is by example, and that's how
she taught Miriam to become a great teacher. She will never forget
